Kiama Art Workshops

Kiama Art Workshops have had an exciting year – four terms of oil painting classes along with our students’ exhibition at Bowral Art Gallery, and planning is already underway for the 2020 schedule, with new classes and the return of a few favourites.

Below are tasters of workshops coming up in the New Year, details will be on the website soon.

“Turneresque” Oil Painting with Megan Seres

Megan Seres returns for an exciting new term 1 class teaching how to paint the landscape/seascape in oils and how to capture that luminescence that the Master of Light did: Turner inspired painting.  This class will go for 8 weeks, for 3 hours each week and is perfect for beginners wishing to learn how to paint with oils, or for those wishing to transition from acrylics to oils.  Also a great class for those wishing to paint like Turner!  Details will be up on our website soon.

Panoramic Shoreline Watercolours with Ingrid Bowen

Ingrid Bowen is returning to Kiama in February for another day of beautiful watercolours.  In this workshop we will create atmospheric watercolour landscapes inspired by the Kiama headland and foreshore. It will be a refreshing and inspiring day focusing on contemporary techniques for rendering expressive and evocative seascapes.  Ingrid’s style is relaxed and free flowing, she is generous with demonstrations and guidance.

Intuitive Ink Workshop with Laura Bright

Are you interested in letting go of the crazy world we call life?  Let your mind flow freely without any distractions in a place where you can live in the moment plus completely zone out in pure, creative bliss.  Join artist Laura Bright who will be teaching the fundamentals of alcohol ink. You will learn a variety of alcohol ink techniques and the process of letting go to create your very own paintings on Yupo paper.
