Sunday 20th October 6pm Eishan Ensemble at Berry Uniting Church Eishan Ensemble are a Sydney based quintet performing an original repertoire of traditionally inspired modern jazz. Led by Tar virtuoso Hamed Sadeghi, Eishan regularly perform to their dedicated fanbase across Australia
and internationally. Their well received debut release ‘Nim Dong’ was released through Art as Catharsis in 2018 with a follow up album currently in the works. Tickets at

Friday 25th October 7-10pm at Yves in Kiama – The Water Runners. Based in Gerringong and  Kiama, NSW, The Water Runners play a high energy blend of Australian folk, performing original songs that combine influences from bluegrass, country, traditional folk and rockabilly as well as the work of contemporary folk artists like Paul Kelly, John Flannagan, The Morrisons and Neil Murray. The Water Runners have played festivals, radio, pubs, clubs and events from Sydney to the Snowy and beyond. Their tight harmonies, strong musicianship, clever song writing and great stage banter have earned The Water Runners a reputation for engaging and entertaining live shows.

Saturday 26th October 11am- 2:30pm Jamberoo Folk Session & 2nd Birthday of Music Association All welcome to bring instruments for this communal jam session. We’ll be revisiting folk and slow bluegrass music played during the year – sheet music and birthday cake provided. Just bring your lunch, instrument and a gold coin for the hall. Thursday 31st October 6:45-8pm KJ String Orchestra performance with special guests in the beautiful surrounds of Jamberoo Uniting Church historic stone chapel. All welcome. Featuring highlights of German,Austrian and Hungarian classical repertoire. Entry by donation.

KJ String Orchestra  Rehearses Thursdays fortnightly 6:30 – 8pm with the next rehearsal on Thursday 17th October. Conductor Dal Oldham has introduced a fresh and exciting new set of music to work on. Derived from great composers of the Austro-Hungarian tradition,the program includes Viennese Waltz, Bohemian Dance and more.Fritz Kreisler, Johann Strauss, Franz Liszt and Antonin Dvorak are amongst the featured composers. String players are welcome to join – no auditions and performances are low key community events not formal concerts. Feel free to email us to discuss the music. Filigree -Combined Chamber Group (Strings/Wind)  This group rehearses Thursdays fortnightly at 6:30pm with the next rehearsal on Thursday 24th October. Christine Buurman leads the group which features an eclectic combination of strings, flutes, guitars and more. The aim is to be inclusive
with both experienced and inexperienced players – a great way to gain confidence in group playing.

This term we are playing early music including pieces by Bach, Handel, Dowland, Vivaldi  and others. New players of all levels of ability welcomed. 

Folk Music Session for playing folk tunes or songs from Australia, England, Scotland, Ireland, America or from anywhere that you find a tune or a song appealing to play or sing. Wayne Millar leads both this Folk and the Bluegrass group. Next rehearsal is Wednesday 30th October 6:30-8:30pm. We also run a monthly Saturday Jamberoo Folk Session from 11 – 2:30pm featuring guest artists / local folk musicians in a jam session style workshop that is both social and a chance to mine musical jewels of the folk tradition.

Slow Bluegrass and Old Time Session accommodates musicians that are looking for a bluegras ssession where the tunes are played at a slow pace- open to all levels including beginners. Next rehearsal is Wednesday 23rd October 6:30-8:30pm.

Berry Band needs a new drummer and a double bass player. They play a terrific range of music and welcome any age bracket . Drum kit is supplied.
The ability to read drum or double bass music is important but this is a great opportunity for someone on the learning curve to be mentored by experienced community musicians.
