Monica Davidson from Creative Plus Business is visiting Shellharbour and Kiama to facilitate a series of workshops aimed at creative practitioners, from students to established artists, freelancers and those of you with your own business – filmmakers, writers, designers, visual artists, musicians, composers, dancers and performers!

I HATE NETWORKING is a surprisingly fun event designed to encourage creative people to get to know each other, while also acknowledging the horror that is networking, and sharing a few tips at the same time.

This is an event that combines the educational elements of learning how to network with an opportunity to practice the skills in a safe and friendly environment, all the while embracing the discomfort of the whole process and having a laugh.

DEAL OR NO DEAL? How do you say no? How do you negotiate your fees, and manage your professional relationships? Communication and mediation are vital parts of running any business, but many creatives have never learned the basics. Managing conflict in particular can be very scary indeed!

This fun and practical workshop goes through the basic elements of communicating with others, including the management of difficult negotiations and how to work towards a “win-win” scenario with tricky clients and challenging situations. We’ll also teach you how to manage the ‘deal’ – or the ‘no deal’.
