Congratulations Steel City Strings who, on 19 August 2019, were declared the winner of the APRA/AMCOS Art Music Award for Excellence in a Regional Area for activities in 2018 and commitment to new Australian music.
The announcement was made on the awards night, and Artistic Director Kyle Little was there to receive the award.
Steel City String continue to champion Australian composers in their next program, Symphonic Sounds, with Paul Stanhope’s Morning Star for String Orchestra. Other works on the program: Mozart’s Jupiter Symphony and violin soloist Anna da Silva Chen playing Beethoven’s violin concerto.
