Bronwyn Kirkpatrick (shakuhachi master) presents a concert of traditional and original pieces on the shakuhachi, a Japanese bamboo flute universally acclaimed for its connection with the sacred.

The concert will feature Tamuke (‘hands folded in prayer’), which refers to the making of spiritual offerings to the Buddha.  A traditional shakuhachi piece used as a prayer for safe passage through life and death, this piece embodies elements of the requiem and the elegy of Western Music. Get involved and be part of the pre-concert workshop!
