‘A Waratah in the bush is worth two in the hand’

Kiama based Artist: Kane Horspool (Trait)

Artist Statement:
Anything can be nocturnal. It just depends on how much light pierces through the night.

The Mural is situated at 381 Princess Hwy Woonona on the northern side of a privately owned building. The site is in a laneway that links the Princess Hwy and main shops to Hadden’s Lane and the IGA Shopping centre. The laneway is a pathway for the community and visitors to link up with a range of social, retail and recreational experiences.

This project is part of Wollongong City Council’s Public Art Program and is a partnership between Wollongong City Council and Corrimal Regional Action Group (CRAG). This program continues to transform the area into an exciting creative experience for residents; create artworks that activate the area visually and reduce vandalism and graffiti. This project was funded through Council’s WARD 1 Cultural Grant Program.
