The Search for the “Lady Albion

Kiama and District Historical Society look forward to hearing Kevin Gillis talking about The Search for the “Lady Albion on Sunday 26 May at 2.30pm in Kiama Family History Centre.

Kevin and his wife Dorothy have been heavily involved with Tongarra Heritage Society for many years and are now also members of KDHS. Kevin will reveal the fascinating history of the “Lady Albion”, a tourist ferry that operated by part owner Mr Albert Orange on Lake Illawarra in the 1920’s sailing from Albion Park Railway Station Jetty to The Entrance, Lake Illawarra .

This talk will be illustrated and includes the interesting research process that Kevin used. He is a recipient of OAM for service to the community through historical research and preservation of heritage sites in the Illawarra. 

The presentation is followed by afternoon tea. Everyone is welcome to this free event.
