Kiama Art Workshops
In this one day workshop you will learn how to twine a beautiful sculptural wall piece or mat using materials of your choice such as paper cord, wire or rope.
We begin by learning how to make a traditional circular wheel and how to add in extra spokes for the desired shape and size of your piece. You will learn about the ancient technique of twining and variations as well as correct hand positions for ease of movement.
This will be a fast paced workshop where a reasonable amount of manual dexterity is required.
Participants will be able to complete a small project and gain a fundamental knowledge of a number of basketry techniques that can be used to complete independent projects
