Exhibition | Afternoon Delight

Fern Street Gallery would like to invite you to their new exhibition “Afternoon Light” by Resident Artist Kristal del Villar

Explore Kristal’s beautiful paintings now and until 31st March 2019, open from 10am daily.

Kristal will be at the gallery to greet you and happy to have a chat about her work

Opening hours 18th-31st March 2019:
Monday-Friday: 10am – 5pm
Saturday & Sunday: 10am – 4pm.

Kristal’s exhibition is a celebration of the colours of afternoon light.

“I am forever drawn to dusk…. when the hues absorbed and reflected are at their most vibrant. There is a warmth and nostalgia that resonates within.”

Kristal enjoys translating details from the photographs she captures of landscapes diffused in evening light, into intricately painted colour scapes.

She employs cropped compositions, acrylic glazes and a vivid palette to welcome us into her decorative world. Crooked River, dappled tree trunks and the sunset view from her home feature as inspiration for these paintings.

This exhibition invites us to explore both up close and afar, unravelling the duality of abstract detail with an overall realistic vision, and awakening the senses to afternoon light.
