Spring Spanish inspired musical celebration on Saturday 6th October at 2pm at Jamberoo School of Arts

Joining us will be musicians and dancers from the acclaimed Ruido Flamenco group as well as Segundo Vasquez, classical guitarist and friends.

Our own Wood & Wind group under the direction of Pam Harris will warm up the audience with some Latin inspired pieces.

Coming up Musically 

Sunday 7th October 3pm Sydney Chamber Choir performs “Behold the Sea” at The Church on the Mall Wollongong. A musical voyage across the seas from Scotland and Finland to Australia by way of watery depths,epic journeys, maritime disasters and island magic between. Ranging from ancient Gregorian Chant to newer works by Sculthorpe and other composers, Behold- The Sea evokes the mystery and majesty of the ocean and the courage and tenacity of those who venture out across its vast expanses. October at the Little Blow Hole Art Bar in Kiama is an exciting month for music. Art Bar favourites Mark Thornton, the incredible jazz pianist Freyja Garbett with Nish on Sax, local soul and funk ban Kngdog and the Catz and the resident DJ Mark Chrissy. Kiama Jamberoo Fortnightly Community Music Activities

Rehearsals take place at Jamberoo Chapel Soundspace at Uniting Church hall, 11 Wyalla Road, Jamberoo for the following groups;

Wood & Wind – Combined Chamber Group (Strings/Wind) starts rehearsals for the new term on Thursday 11th October at 6:15pm. Pamela Harris, is coordinating an enchanting program of early music and Christmas pieces. This group is an eclectic combination of strings, flutes and mandolins and occasional drum. New players welcome

Rehearsals take place at GMS Music Studio in Shoalhaven Heads for the following group:

Chapel Consort  is a newly formed group which is currently rehearsing Fridays fortnightly at 5:45pm for performances in Jamberoo Uniting Church chapel for Remembrance Day 11 November 2018 and “A Quiet Christmas” on 21 December 2018.

Singers and Instrumentalists who can multi-task are especially welcome. A selection of hymns, anthems and other assorted arrangements are presented for sight reading with descants/harmonies/canonic variations. Accompaniment includes cello, viola, belleplates, flute and piano. Heather Powrie directs the group and Cameron Powrie supplies first rate pizza as a coda.
