Word Salad: South Coast Writers Centre’s Latest Fare

When | Every Wednesday night from 5th of July
Where | Hideaway Café, Shop 8, 81 Church St, Wollongong
Cost | SCWC Members Free, all others $5

There’s something for everyone at Word Salad’s weekly cultural menu of events. South Coast Authors bring a local flavour to events featuring works of local writers, authors and performers.

The fun begins on Wednesday the 5th of July, 2017, at 6pm, in the warm and welcoming Hideaway Café, where there are light meals, snacks and drinks, and BYO wine available. Everyone is invited to the table, for only a $5 entry fee, or free for SCWC members. Membership forms will be available at the venue.

How It Works:

On the first Wednesday of the month, enjoy literary marvels of poetry, performance, theme and song at Open Mic, facilitated by local poet-performer, Garry McDougall.

On the second Wednesday, aficionados of the metaphor can tuck into Poetry with Bite: an evening of reading and enjoying poetry led by local poet/publisher Ron Pretty.

On the third Wednesday, The Big Book Club, facilitated by Lynne Cook and Judi Morison, will appeal to fiction addicts.

On the fourth Wednesday, Literary Hotspot serves up a feast of book launches, author talks and special guests.
