Shellharbour City Council are currently calling for expressions of interest from artists who wish to undertake a public art commission for the Lake Illawarra Art Trail.
There will be two commissions this year, each with different aims.
In Boonerah Point we are looking for a playable sculpture to be installed near to existing play equipment.
In Hooker Park we are looking for an artist to work with local young people from neighbouring high schools and the PCYC to create a sculptural artwork.
Both artworks should respond to and reflect the people, history and/or environment of Lake Illawarra. The Lake Illawarra Art Trail project seeks to create community connections, activate spaces, add vibrancy and provide a visual celebration of place.
Expressions of interest close on September 30 2016. To view the artist briefs, please visit Council’s website at http://www.shellharbour.nsw.gov.au/Live/My-Community/Arts-and-culture.aspx
