If you are interested in learning more about art history, the Kiama Art Gallery has been developing an number of art appreciation programs, and the first of these is now available on line.
Introduction to Modern European Art is designed for adults who prefer to study from home as well as teachers and students.
It’s comprehensive, interactive and can be completed in your own time over a 12 week period.
The program covers the period from the mid 1800s to the 1940s, when there were so many exciting changes happening in art, particularly in and around France.
If you’d like to see short snippets from the program, please visit kiamaartgallery.wordpress.com
Normally $125 (Aud), until Christmas the program is only $99.
As an introduction, the program reviews the changes that were occurring during the 1800s and explains role of the various Salons in Paris
in promoting artists and art styles.
