Are you a professional or semi-professional local artist?
Would you love the opportunity to exhibit your work?
Then join Art @ the Library, Kiama!
Our Art @ the Library exhibition program provides an excellent opportunity for established and emerging artists in the Kiama community to exhibit their work.
Who can be involved?
- 2D visual artists working professionally or semi-professionally
- musicians, with recorded music
- authors and poets, with published work
- actors and performers, with theatre, stage, film or TV work .
To be considered for inclusion in the Kiama Council Art @ the Library exhibition program you need to be an artist living in the Kiama local government area.
All works are displayed for a period of one month, exhibitions run from March to November only. Application can be made at anytime and will be assessed by Council staff. Bookings are not automatically guaranteed and each application will be assessed based on:
- Local residency of the artist
- quality of work
- practicing professional or semi-professional artist
Please complete and send in the EOI Form on the back of this brochure. You will be notified via email or phone following receipt and review of your booking application.
Council reserves the right to change or cancel your booking dates, with notification, to accommodate traveling exhibitions and Council related exhibitions.
The exhibition space will be within the front/foyer area of the Kiama Library or other space as advised and negotiated by Library staff to meet the needs of the artwork and the Library’s day-to-day operations. The requirements of the Library to undertake operational goals will take precedence over exhibition or artistic requirements.
Six double-sided easels are available for displaying your artwork. IPads can be made available for viewing and listening to musicians and performers works.
While the exhibition space is free, you will be required to undertake an artist’s talk on either your opening night or at another agreed time during the period of your exhibition.
Promotion of the exhibition will be done through Kiama Council’s social media and websites. However, you are primarily responsible for the promotion of your exhibition.
Works for sale
Sale of work is made directly between the artist and the potential buyer. No commissions or fees are required from the artist. Artist contact details must be made available to the public if work is to be sold.
Set up and pack up
Artists are responsible for delivery set up and pick up of all works during Library opening hours. A specific day will be allocated for delivery and installation and another for taking down your art works (within Library operating hours)
These guidelines must be adhered to if you wish to be a part of Art @ the Library. Council reserves the right to decline the work of any artist who does not meet these requirements.

Questions and/or your completed EOI can be directed to Council’s Community and Cultural Development Officer.
