Here’s another occasional missive of noteworthy gigs and happy things coming up ..including Adrian Cunningham & band direct from Birdland New York to Kiama in early December – all info is below!

Saturday September 26

Pearl Noire @ Central  Hotel Shellharbour 7.30pm
No cover charge for our favourite diva, smooth and sassy. A rich voluptuous and generous performance, fantastic voice and energy. To know her is to love her!! Jazz Blues Soul and everything in between.

Sunday October 4

Music in the Park @ Hindmarsh Park Kiama 1.15-3.15pm
A regular gig on the first Sunday of each month, a jointly presented by Kiama Council and Kiama Jazz & Blues Club.  All free and al fresco, showcasing local talent! This time its Alex Hallahan, James Vann, and, Sound of KoKo

Sunday October 11

Sydney Conservatorium of Music Alumni Jazz Orchestra 6.30pm @ Verbruggen Hall, level 3, Sydney Con $25/$50
The Sydney Con is hosting a week long festival to celebrate its centenary. The programme includes some of the finest classical musicians you could imagine, but the finale is a gala jazz performance by the Sydney Con Alumni Orchestra.  Made up of musical luminaries from the last 40 years with conductor David Theak and featured soloist Dale Barlow, you’ll see many familiar names: Evan Harris, Roger Manins, Tim Oram, Nick Bowd, Simon Sweeney, Dane Laboyrie (a Kiama Jazz & Blues Festival favourite), Simon Ferenci, Warwick Alder, James Greening, Jeremy Borthwick, Eleanor Shearer, Colin Phillpott, Oliver Thorpe, Steve Barry, Phil Stack, Andrew Gander, Sandy Evans Trio with Brett Hirst & Toby Hall, Matt McMahon, James Muller, Phil Slater, Simon Barker.  Buy tickets online www.music.sydney.edu.au/events/scm-centenary-festival  or contact 9351 1222 for more info.

Alex Hahn and the Blue Riders @ Shellharbour Central Hotel 12 noon – 3pm $10
Presented by the Illawarra Jazz Club + Kiama Jazz & Blues Club. An exciting combo will present a tribute to Etta James plus other jazz standards & favourites and will mix it up with blues & soul too ..and we can dance!! Sunday November 1

Pastance @ Gerringong Town Hall 2pm
Celtic & early music and singing presented by Gerringong Music Club.  Doors open at 1.30pm. Tickets $20 at the door/$15 members. Free for children and students. Afternoon tea available. Something different, fun and interesting!

Saturday November 14

Kiama Bowling Club, 8pm @ Blues Bash – 3 sizzling bands!
Featuring Dr Don’s Double Dose (Boogie & Blues with Don Hopkins and Rob Grosser), The Jacky Howellers (Howling blues with Dan Sullivan & Rod Mitchell) and the blistering original blues guitar sounds of James Vann (solo). Entry is free but we will pass the hat around for a gold coin donation to pay the bands!)

Saturday December 5

Adrian Cunningham & Band @ Kiama Leagues Club, 8pm
$25pp or $20pp for Kiama Jazz & Blues Club members

We are thrilled to present Adrian (aka Professor Cunningham, master of swing) direct from Birdland Jazz Club on 44th St New York back to Kiama.  World class A-listed master of Sax, Reeds, Jazz & Swing Adrian will set our feet tapping with his swinging classics and jazz grooves.  Show time is 8pm at Kiama Leagues Club. This is an after dinner show and you can buy drinks at the bar.  Purchase Tickets  at www.kiamajazz.com or email kiamajazz@hotmail.com for info.
You can pay by cheque also, post to Steve Ivory Kiama Jazz & Blues Club PO Box 333 Kiama 2533.  No tickets will be printed, your name will be at the door (& on your table)  Tickets will also be available at the door if not sold out prior.

Every Sunday arvo you’ll catch top quality live music at Jamberoo Pub, from 1.30pm.  And often also on a Saturday night, along with regular live & intimate events.  Check www.jamberoopub.com.au for what’s on.

Every Saturday arvo at 3.30pm you can get great Jazz at Corrimal Hotel, presented by the Illawarra Jazz Club.  No cover charge.

Every Sunday arvo from 2.30pm get some amazing jazz at the Basement at Wollongong Builders Club.  No cover charge.
