My personal festival Itinerary might look a bit like this...
On Friday night you’ll find me at Kinetic Method at the Blue Diamond Bar (Sebel) at 7pm and then I’m heading to the Kiama Leagues Club for Righteous Voodoo at 10pm, and then to Kiama Inn to finish the night with Genevieve Chadwick.
On Saturday I’ll be on the streets from about 9.30 to soak up Eat to the Beat, starting with Hot Potato! and finishing 18 bands later at around 2.30pm, just call me a greedy gutz.
I’ll be checking out the Young Bands Come Out to Play in Hindmarsh Park at 2pm but heading over to Kiama Leagues Club for Andrew Oh and Armondo Hurley at 2.30 then sneaking over to the Sidewalk Soiree at the Little Blowhole Cafe at 4pm for the powerhouse blues of Milena Barrett and Rob Turner.
On Saturday night I’ll have to clone myself. I am definitely doing Sax Summit, Kiama Leagues at 7.30, Pena Flamenca 8.30 upstairs Kiama Leagues Club, The Foreday Riders at Kiama Bowlo 8.45, Chris Harland Blues Band at The Grand from 8.30pm and Psycho Zydeco till 11pm at the Gerringong Bowlo.
On Sunday you will probably find me konked out in Hindmarsh Park at the All Day Jazz & Blues, but more than likely I’ll be selling you a raffle ticket or a festival TShirt. I’ll be breakfasting with Pearlnoire at 9.30 at Speak n Easy and also be checking out a few of the bands around town. Finishing the day at the Grand with the Stingers & Friends.
Major venues over the weekend are Kiama Leagues Club and The Blue Diamond Bar Kiama Sebel, other venues include The Gerringong Bowling Club, Kiama Inn, Kiama Grand Hotel, Kiama Bowlo, El Corazon, Saltwater, Milk & Honey, Chachi’s, Seabreeze Dining, Rosy Lea Cafe, Little Blowhole Cafe, Red Rooster and heaps more…No tickets no cover charge just turn up and enjoy!
Also The Old Fire Station on Terralong Street is being transformed into Jazz Central, a great exhibition of Jazz memorabilia from our attic, and there’ll be 2015 Kiama Jazz & Blues Festival T Shirts for sale $25 each…Groovy Black this year! Over the weekend if you need info, a programme or assistance of a festival nature then drop in!
Cheers & have fun
