Social Entrepreneurship

cropped-WildRumpusbigBig exciting news!

Wild Rumpus has been working with the School for Social Enterpreneurs Australia (SSE Australia) on bringing exceptional training, information and resources to the Illawarra about social entrepreneurship and changemaking.

What is social entrepreneurship, you say? It is essentially an idea or a business that has community and social benefit. We know there are plently of bright, bold innovators here in the Illawarra, but the hardest thing is turning that idea into a reality and then sustaining it. SSE Australia inspires and equips changemakers and social entrepreneurs to establish, scale and sustain social ventures that foster social and economic participation, and create a lasting impact in disadvantaged communities. Find out more on their website. So what now?

FIRSTLY,
SSE are holding a fantastic and inspiring not-to-be-missed event on

Thursday November 6th,

5.30 – 7.30pm at the

UOW Innovation Campus.

The Big Conversation: Fostering Social Innovation in the Illawarra will showcase some of our brightest social entrepreneurs and inspiring projects such as Green Connect, Tender Funerals, and iAccelerate and open up the conversation to YOU about how we can use social change to transform and improve our community. Enjoy food cooked by local social enterprise SCARF catering

Why should I attend? Because you are interested in seeing the Illawarra flourish. Because you have ideas for how to improve our cultural life, business sector, community services and education opportunities. Because the seed of an idea is floating around in your mind and you need help to make it a reality. Because you want to be part of building a community that supports social change as well as brings economic growth. Because you are inspired by innovation, creativity and business with heart.
