Creative Shellharbour | Community Engagement

Shellharbour City Council is currently developing a new Arts and Cultural Strategy, a need which was identified in the Community Strategic Plan.

The strategy will guide Council’s approach to art and cultural investment and activity over the next 3 – 5 years. It will build on existing cultural assets and resources, while providing new opportunities for cultural development, creative expression, local identity and place-making initiatives.

Ultimately the strategy will outline and suggest coordinated ambitions for the future that will inform Council’s planning, programming and funding priorities, ensuring that arts and culture is integrated into almost everything Council does. Council’s objective is to encourage and support a creative community participating in arts and cultural activities.

Have your say

Help determine the future of arts and culture in our city. What’s your big idea for a more creative Shellharbour?

There are many ways you can contribute!

Join the conversation on our social media pages using the hashtag #creativeshellharbour. Post your ideas and inspiring images to go in the draw to win a double pass to a show of your choice at the Roo Theatre in the remaining 2014 season.

You will also be able to complete a short survey, with the survey to open June 2 and close June 29, 2014. Respondents will have the chance to win a voucher from Little Leonardo’s Art Studio to be used on workshops or art supplies.

We will also be popping up all over the city at the kiosks listed in the timetable. Come by and say hi, we would love to hear from you!
