Yesterday I finished installing an exhibition which I have curated, of artists who work in the medium of felt. It has come together really well and I am pleased. The exhibition is titled Feltportation and includes 13 artists from all around Australia, Iceland, Japan, and New Zealand.
Feltportation is an exhibition of contemporary artists who use felt in conceptual artworks, bringing an ancient craft into a modern context.
It will be on show in the FCA Gallery, at Wollongong University from the 14 August to 12 September 2013.
Curated by Anita Larkin, the exhibition explores how felt can be used as an insulation material, allowing the transference or interference, of objects, materials, sound, warmth, and of spirit.
The exhibition is accompanied by a full colour catalogue with pages by each of the artists and a curatorial essay.
The exhibition is held in conjunction with The 12th Southern Hemisphere Feltmakers Convergence (SHFC) to be held at Stan well Tops from the 1-6 September.
I hope you enjoy viewing this exhibition, and please feel free to spread the word about this show to others.
cheers, Anita Larkin
